More and more Canadians are hanging up on traditional telephone landlines -and going wireless.
The national telecom regulator says the number of residential phone subscribers dropped by 2.1 per cent last year – to 11.9 million.
And while Canadians have cut their usage of more than a million telephone lines in the last five years – wireless subscriptions have risen by 5.8 million.
The CRTC says there are now 27.9 million wireless subscribers – with an average of two per household.
